Prosser's History

In 1955, Duane and Laurie Prosser responded to an invitation to start a new piano and organ dealership for the Baldwin Piano Co. in Tacoma, WA. After moving from the mid-west, it wasn't long until the Tacoma community recognized the personal family touch being extended to every customer in helping them realize their musical dreams.

With this style of customer support, Prosser's has come to be known as "The Learn to Play Store" with showroom locations and teaching satellites throughout the greater Puget Sound area.

Prosser Piano & Organ has been recognized by Music, Inc., a national magazine, featuring an article about the management style and ability of the company's leadership to adapt to changing technological and marketing ideas in order to better serve their customers' needs.

Prosser's has also been honored with the Small Business of the Year Award for Pierce County. This award was based upon evaluation of the company's business performance, community involvement and customer satisfaction with its services, edging out manufacturers, engineering firms and other local companies being considered for this annual award.
